Jess Hallam

Jess joined the firm in 2023. Previously, she was a legal fellow with the Neighborhood Defender Service of Harlem’s Collateral Consequences Team, where she represented clients in housing, employment, public benefits, police misconduct, and civil forfeiture matters. 

Jess received her J.D. in 2021 from The University of Texas School of Law. During law school, she interned with the ACLU Disability Rights Program, Neighborhood Defender Service of Harlem, and the Texas Fair Defense Project. She also led her law school’s Expunction Project and participated in its Civil Rights, Criminal Defense, and Capital Punishment Clinics. She graduated from Yale in 2016 with a B.S. in Psychology.

Jess is admitted to practice in New York and the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
